The "Polka-Simple Wallet" Initiative: Building and Marketing a Layman's Wallet for Mass Adoption
This proposal seeks funding from the Polkadot Treasury to develop and market a highly simplified, user-friendly wallet—dubbed the "Polkadot To The People"—designed for non-technical users. The wallet will feature a streamlined, intuitive interface, removing complexities like nomination, confusing jargon, and multi-step processes. The project includes a dedicated marketing campaign to drive adoption and onboard new users to the Polkadot ecosystem.
The current Polkadot ecosystem, while powerful for advanced users, presents a steep learning curve for everyday users. Concepts like conviction voting, relay chains, and validator nominations are confusing. This complexity creates a significant barrier to entry, hindering mass adoption and limiting the network's growth. Existing wallets like Polkadot.js are built for power users, not the average person.
This Polka-Simple Wallet will abstract away technical complexities to create a simple, guided experience. It will provide the easiest way to hold, send, receive, and stake DOT and other ecosystem tokens. The project focuses on two key areas:
- Product Development: Building a secure, multi-platform wallet with a clean user interface.
- Marketing & Growth: Executing a targeted campaign to reach non-crypto-native audiences.
Vision: To make interacting with the Polkadot ecosystem as simple as using any mainstream fintech application, unlocking a new wave of user adoption. The Polkadot to the People Wallet will be the gateway for the next million users to join Polkadot.
Goals:
Develop a user-friendly wallet: Build native mobile apps for iOS and Android, and a web-based version that prioritizes simplicity.
Achieve significant adoption: Aim for X monthly active users within one year of launch.
Improve the new user onboarding process: Create a wallet experience that reduces the time to a user's first transaction or stake to under five minutes.
Increase marketing reach: Run successful campaigns on social media and digital channels to target mainstream audiences and grow the community.
3. Scope of work
Phase 1: Research and design (Months 1–2)
User research: Conduct focus groups and surveys with non-crypto users to identify pain points.
UI/UX design: Develop wireframes and mockups for the wallet interface, prioritizing simplicity and clarity.
Technical feasibility: Define the tech stack and architecture for cross-platform development.

Le NEXUS is NAY.
In 1 word, we have the Polkadot App (at least one day :) ).
This ref would be seen as a double spending.
